Weirdolight Animation

I love gifts!

Ehem, apologies, I meant to say:

Hi, I’m Hanna also known as Weirdolight!

And I love giving gifts even more than receiving them.

That’s why I collect and share gift ideas — to help anyone who wants to create a memorable gift and is looking for inspiration, guidance, or just a little spark of joy. I’m the founder of Weirdolight and the voice behind everything you see here: gift ideas and guides, short stories, the shop — basically, all things Weirdolight.

I grew up among artists and engineers in Bavaria, Germany, and today I live near Stuttgart in Swabia, Germany. By day, I work a “grown-up job” at a large corporate company; I studied “something IT” and have spent over a decade in the field. But every so often, I missed letting my creativity run wild. Weirdolight became the perfect outlet — a place to channel ideas into something meaningful, playful, and just a little bit weird.

Weirdolight Gifts

At Weirdolight, we believe the perfect gift varies & is dependant on the recipient, giver and the occasion.

The perfect gift could be …

  • Of any monetary value (high, low, medium, none)
  • Material or intangible
  • Self-made or bought

The perfect gift could be anything, including e.g.

  • a physical item or product
  • money or a gift card
  • an event
  • a simple gesture
  • time spent together
  • a wish or note, e.g. via phone call, text message, greeting card or letter
  • a story — told from the heart, chosen especially for the person, or crafted to entertain and delight the beloved recipient

For future reference, any potentially alarming shirt slogans are purely for artistic expression. My actual vibe is more ‘collecting cute stickers’ than ‘summoning dark forces’.

What I do in my free time

When I’m not busy with my “grown-up job”, chances are I’m traveling in my beloved campervan with my boyfriend.

At any given moment, we might be cooking or enjoying amazing food, fancy coffee, red red wine, carving pumpkins for Halloween, skiing in Austria, or dancing the night away at some unforgettable party in Germany, Switzerland, France — or wherever the road takes us. Occasionally, we even hit the gym to burn off all that deliciousness.

On the road, you’ll usually find me in the passenger seat — crocheting, sewing, writing a blog post… or, if I’m lucky, catching a nap. Curious what we’re up to? I sometimes share snippets on Instagram, especially when I’ve got some time to spare while cruising along.

Weirdolight Stories

Who does not like a good bedtime story?

Every now and then — somewhere between the ribbons, glitter, and gift-giving glee — my mind drifts into odd little corners and spins up stories. These are not your usual tales. They’re bite-sized adventures into the whimsical and sometimes slightly twisted edges of imagination. Think: curious, dreamy, and just a touch dark.

Perfect for fellow daydreamers, night-thinkers, and anyone who enjoys a pause that makes you go “Hmm…”

My first one? It’s called “Why We Can’t Have Unicorns.”
What’s it really about? Well, that’s for you to decide.

Special gifts for special people!

On my travels, I meet all kinds of fascinating weirdos.*

And I ask a lot of questions. Mostly about happiness and gift giving. That’s where much of the inspiration for this website comes from. It’s always so interesting to hear what different people consider the best gift they’ve ever received.

One person’s perfect present might be another’s worst nightmare – and that’s what makes us so wonderfully unique!

At the heart of it all, I believe every weirdo* can find happiness through authenticity, freedom, & love.

Through Weirdolight, I share truly heartfelt gift ideas and stories to help spread that happiness – one delightful weirdo at a time.

*If you are human, congratulations — you are a weirdo. Go ahead, look in the mirror.

The adventure doesn’t end here…
